As a Business/Life Coach/Mentor/Confidante, I have supported clients at a wide variety of stages along their professional journey. New Entrepreneurs eager to leave corporate and begin a business of their own, clients ready to go from 7–8 figure incomes, and so much more.

Lately, I have been blessed to meet numerous individuals consciously choosing to create their legacy by transforming their businesses or starting new ones. Having always spoken about purpose, I was aware of the need to live with a conscious, inclusive perhaps, but far deeper cause than simple financial gain. Consciously choosing to reframe a career, to one of establishing a legacy, creates a far more committed and purpose-driven focus.

For decades most of us spent our lives working at careers that provided for our family, or ourselves. Hopefully, there was also great joy in the profession you choose and the location you worked at in the process. All environments call us to grow, to learn, and to become better versions of ourselves. Whether a solopreneur, small business owner, or someone in the corporate world, you were called to grow, become more, develop skills, and learn the dynamics of business life and success, whatever that meant to you.

Now, seeing a stage in life, where the children are grown, or your career path no longer seems to serve a purpose other than redundancy, can call you to retire, lessen your hours, or choose another path. As I have seen frequently lately, it can also be a time in which you assess your life, and the gifts, impact, and influence, you are leaving behind, and realize you want to invest in something far more meaningful than previously needed or considered.

How do you want to make the world a better place? What legacy do you want to leave, one that far outlives you? How do you want to achieve that? Is it in transforming those who follow you so they in turn can bring your message to others, themselves? Is it by leaving an organization the next generation can run and expand with your vision and values?

This is not a stage we were trained to consider, yet whether it is the cultural upheaval we are in, the recognition that there is so much more to life than simply working, or because universally we have seen real meaning is lacking for so many.

Whatever the cause, I have developed an option called The Elite Clarity & Legacy Coaching Experience. I am aware that we, as a culture, are looking for more meaning and more impact. Deciding that leaving behind a legacy of hope and transformation is far more compelling for increasing numbers of leaders who have so much to share.

What is your legacy? Have you thought about it? If not, take the time on a quiet weekend day to assess your life, where it has taken you, what you have achieved, and what you wish would continue long after you leave. Your legacy may be waiting…

Set up a call if you are ready to assess where you are and what you want to share long after you have gone whether that is anticipated to be 10 or 60 years away. Legacy planning may be the permission you need to fully commit to making this word a better place by leaving a piece of you, and your learning behind.
